Medicine4Youth Canada Partnership Agreement
New partnership with medically-focused non-profit organization benefits future physicians in Canada.
Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM) and Medicine4Youth Canada (Medicine4Youth), a Canadian non-profit organization comprised of university chapters that support and inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders, are pleased to share their innovative new partnership.
As part of the agreement, SUSOM will award the Maple Leaf Grant ($500 USD) to each chapter in Canada, sponsor certain Medicine4Youth events, collaborate on information sessions, and provide other support when possible. Medicine4Youth members who plan to pursue a medical school education will benefit greatly from learning about SUSOM’s MD program, connecting with admissions experts, and experiencing the programmatic and financial support delivered via the partnership!
Anita Alizadeh and Hanvitha Bosigari, Co-Presidents of Medicine4Youth, shared: “We at Medicine4Youth are thrilled to partner with Global University Systems (GUS). This collaboration will open new doors for our enthusiastic pre-med community, providing them with invaluable opportunities to advance their medical education and gain global perspectives in healthcare beyond the traditional routes available. Together, we can empower the next generation of physicians to serve communities with skill, compassion and cultural understanding.”
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Medicine4Youth Canada, an organization that shares our passion for supporting and inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders,” said Gulce Kaya, Director of Admissions and Operations for SUSOM. “Through this collaboration, we are strengthening our commitment to Canadian students who aspire to develop careers in medicine as practicing physicians, providing them with increased access to academic resources, individualized guidance and financial support.”
Since 1992, 3000+ aspiring medical doctors have completed SUSOM’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. Graduates then go on to hold medical licenses and practice in the U.S., Canada and internationally. Rooted in our commitment to fostering academic and clinical success, SUSOM students consistently achieve strong USMLE results and postgraduate residency placement rates. Located on the safe and beautiful island of Saba, students spend the first half of medical school (Basic Sciences) on campus before transitioning into rotations (Clinical Medicine) in the U.S. (core and electives) and Canada (select electives). Our accreditor, the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO), is recognized by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).
Excitingly, this partnership has been established between Medicine4Youth and all three GUS Medical Schools – Saba University School of Medicine, Medical University of the Americas and St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine.
