Financial Aid Deferment Eligibility Notice
Have you received a letter saying that you are starting loan repayment, or are you already making payments on loans from a previous institution?
You may be eligible for a deferment once you matriculate into the MD program at Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM).
A deferment may allow eligible students to postpone payments on prior student loans while attending SUSOM as a full-time student. You are generally not required to make payments on eligible loans while enrolled full time, even if you are not receiving student financial assistance. However, to prevent your loans from entering repayment, your school must confirm your enrolment.
Please contact the Financial Aid Office directly for information about the next steps or to determine your eligibility for deferment at canaid@saba.edu.
The institution reserves the right to modify or revoke a deferment if eligibility requirements are no longer met.
Canadian Lines of Credit
Numerous banks provide student lines of credit to supplement or substitute for the provincial loan alternative. In Canada, some of these banks include CIBC, RBC, TD and BMO, among others.
