University of Niagara Falls Canada Partnership Agreement

New pathway allows UNF students to proceed to SUSOM one year sooner.

Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM) is proud to highlight this exciting new partnership with University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF), wherein eligible UNF students pursuing their Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences (HBSc) degree can bypass the final year of their undergraduate program and proceed directly into the SUSOM MD program.

This accelerated route allows successful pathway participants to complete three years (90 credits) of their four-year undergraduate program at UNF and then begin the 10-semester SUSOM MD program. After then completing the first two semesters (in Basic Sciences), students will automatically earn their final 30 undergraduate credits and receive their honors bachelor’s degree from UNF.

This saves pathway students one year’s worth of tuition, housing and living costs, and provides significant earnings and advancement benefits related to entering the workforce one year ahead of schedule. Additionally, UNF students who successfully take advantage of this opportunity will receive a $20,000 USD partnership scholarship and remain eligible for up to $165,000 in additional financial support via existing grants and scholarships. “The partnerships between University of Niagara Falls Canada and our medical schools, Saba University School of Medicine and Medical University of the Americas, create defined pathways for students to progress into an MD program.” said James Bruzik, PhD, Chief Academic Officer for SUSOM and MUA. “It is exciting that in the current healthcare climate, where there is a physician shortage, these opportunities can help improve access to medical care.”

Since 1992, 3000+ aspiring medical doctors have completed our Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program, which includes clinical rotations in the U.S. and select elective rotations in Canada. Graduates go on to hold medical licenses and practice in the U.S., Canada and internationally. Rooted in our commitment to fostering strong academic results, SUSOM students consistently achieve USMLE success and strong residency placement rates after graduation. We are proud to help future physicians achieve their dreams.
