Dr. Reshma Shrestha, MD (Pathology) has extensive experience of more than a decade as an educator and clinician, with significant contributions to both academic and clinical pathology.
Dr. Shrestha completed her medical training at Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara and pursued her postgraduate training in Pathology at Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Over her career, she has held various faculty positions at leading teaching hospitals, where she has utilized innovative teaching methods, including interactive lectures and problem-based learning, to bridge theoretical knowledge with clinical practice. She has also mentored postgraduate students, guiding them through research projects and thesis writing. Dr. Shrestha has made significant contributions as an examiner for MBBS and postgraduate board examinations appointed by Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University. She has also offered her expertise as a moderator for the Nepal Medical Council Licensing Examination (NMCLE), a critical assessment for medical graduates. She is an active member of national and international medical organizations, including the International Academy of Pathology, Nepal division (IAP-ND). In 2024, Dr. Shrestha joined Saba University School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Pathology, Systems and Disease.
Dr. Shrestha has a keen interest in medical education and is dedicated to fostering progressive learning and teaching methods. She strongly believes in creating dynamic, student-centered learning environments that promote critical thinking, continuous development, and the integration of innovative educational strategies. Her contributions to the field of medical education are complemented by her ongoing involvement in research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at medical conferences. She has particular interests in cancer diagnostics, and infectious pathology, and ophthalmic pathology.
In addition, Dr. Shrestha has served as a member of Institutional Research Committee and Journal editorial board of Association of Clinical Pathologists of Nepal.In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Shrestha has extensive clinical experience as a pathologist, specializing in anatomic pathology. Her particular areas of interest include oncopathology.
