Ravi Shankar Prasad Sawan

Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad Sawan is a dedicated academician and accomplished researcher with over six years of experience in medical education, specializing in Neuroanatomy. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Dr. Sawan brings a strong foundation in anatomical sciences, combined with a commitment to excellence in teaching and academic research. 

Dr. Sawan has extensive teaching experience across India and the Caribbeans including Aruba and Jamaica, having taught students from diverse healthcare disciplines including Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy and Nursing. His teaching expertise encompasses Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Neuroanatomy, and Radiological Anatomy, with an emphasis on integrating basic anatomical sciences with clinical application. He is experienced in delivering anatomy education through cadaveric dissection, digital anatomy platforms, radiological imaging and student-centered learning approaches.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Sawan has held several academic leadership and administrative positions that demonstrate his commitment to institutional development and educational excellence. He has served as Subject Coordinator for the Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Nursing programs, where he contributed to curriculum planning, course coordination, and student assessment. Additionally, he has contributed as an active Research Committee Member, organizing multiple Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions focused on research.

Dr. Sawan has further contributed to academic administration as Anatomy Laboratory In-Charge and as System Co-Chair for the Fundamental Concepts in Medicine course. He has also served as a Montor-Meeting coordinator, providing academic mentorship and supporting student learning and professional growth. These diverse roles reflect his leadership in both academic and administrative capacities, contributing to curriculum planning and faculty governance.
