Andrew Boileau, PhD, has extensive experience in basic and applied neuroscience, neuroscience research, and medical school instruction. He has been teaching at Saba University School of Medicine for over 10 years, with student performance close to or often exceeding national averages on the NBME Neuroscience Shelf exam.
Starting with a background in Neuroscience research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Boileau made the transition from primarily researcher to full-time instructor and lecturer at Saba University School of Medicine. He finds interactions with students a more rewarding endeavor than laboratory work, even though he published regularly in journals such as the Journal of Neuroscience, Molecular Neurobiology, Neuropharmacology and the Journal of Biological Chemistry. He has presented his work over a dozen times at the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting.
Over the past decade, Dr. Boileau has also been active in the Saba community, working with Adult Continuing Education, Body, Mind and Spirit Foundation, Child Focus Foundation, and Saba Reach Foundation. These volunteer positions help to advance health education in the community, and the education of community youth.
