Dr. Sammy C. Wong is a general surgeon who obtained his medical degree and residency training at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical School. During his second-year general surgery residency training program, he was already designated as the Chief Resident to handle the department’s administrative functions and supervise all surgery residents and interns.
His passion for teaching started in 2001 when he taught gross anatomy in Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila, the first and only chartered and autonomous university funded by a city government in the Philippines. He has held various positions in the College of Medicine, which included Comprehensive Examination Coordinator for the Clerkship Program and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. At private and government schools, he has taught in other disciplines, including Nursing and Physical Therapy. He was also a senior instructor for the International Cultural Studies Education Corporation (IESEC), A KAPLAN-certified education provider in the Philippines. He has a Master’s Degree in Government Management, which he obtained as a scholarship provided by Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila.
