Dr. Paul Joseph is a physician and dedicated medical educator with a career spanning clinical practice, teaching, and academic development. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed graduate training at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine.
At St. George’s University, he served as a Clinical Instructor, delivering lectures and small-group tutorials in the basic sciences. He also designed and implemented remediation programs for students in the clinical clerkships of paediatrics and family medicine, aligning them with the NBME curriculum to strengthen both knowledge and clinical reasoning. His interests include the integration of basic and clinical sciences, the design of fair and effective assessment strategies, and the development of student-centred approaches that promote success across diverse learning environments.
Clinically, Dr. Joseph practiced as a Family Physician in his native Trinidad and Tobago. During this time, he applied the skills and perspectives gained from clinical experiences in both North American and UK healthcare systems, enriching his approach to patient care and medical education.
At Saba University School of Medicine, Dr. Joseph looks forward to bringing this breadth of experience to the classroom, with the aim of fostering student engagement, enhancing clinical reasoning, and supporting professional development.
