Biography:

Joel Banez, M.D., is an accomplished medical school professor, dermatologist, and administrator. He is a board-certified dermatologist in the Philippines and is a diplomate of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS). He spent several years in clinical practice in dermatology before going back to teaching full time.

After residency training in dermatology, he continued teaching as a visiting professor educating residents and interns. The strong passion to teach medical students led him to his academic position at Saba.   

Dr. Banez’s research interests include allergic and infectious diseases of the skin. His research is published in the Journal of the Philippine Dermatologic Society.
