Saba Holds 2022 White Coat Ceremony

White Coat Ceremony

Last Month, Saba University School of Medicine hosted its 2022 White Coat Ceremony, a tradition where students put on their white coats for the first time, symbolizing they are officially doctors in training.

During the ceremony, students in the first semester class received their coats from faculty, recited the Saba University School of Medicine honor code, and reflected on the ethical duties and values of doctors.

The ceremony was also an opportunity for fifth semester students, who have excelled both academically and in service to the school and community, to be inducted into the Alpha Omega Phi Honors and Service Society. These students serve as mentors and share advice on how to achieve excellence for the incoming class.

The Alpha Omega Phi society raises funds each semester for a group on Saba Island. This semester, they donated $1,400 to the Saba Conservation Foundation to help promote the Foundation’s mission to preserve and manage Saba’s natural and cultural heritage.
