Compared to your local state school, Saba University may seem far away. Compared to other international medical schools (including others located in the Caribbean), the campus is convenient to get to and located in an extremely desirable location.
Saba is 28 miles south of St. Maarten, which is a major point of entry to the Caribbean and served by direct flights from numerous locations throughout the U.S. You get to Saba via a 15 minute plane ride from St. Maarten or via a 90-minute ferry ride. The school is a short cab ride from either the airport or the ferry.
Saba is a beautiful country—its nickname is the “Unspoiled Queen” –and is also extremely safe. Discriminating tourists have long sought out Saba for its diving, its restaurants, charming inns and stunning Caribbean vistas. The school enjoys very good relations with the local population. Because Saba is small and off the well-worn tourist track, it lacks many of the distractions that can interfere with studying.
