Saba University School of Medicine is listed in both the World Health Organization (WHO) directory and the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). Saba University students are eligible to sit for United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) exams. Saba graduates, having successfully passed the USMLE Step 1, Step 2CK and Step 2CS exams, are eligible for Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®) certification, which is required to enter a residency in the United States. Upon completion of residency, Saba graduates are then eligible to take the USMLE Step 3 exam.
Saba University School of Medicine’s Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program is accredited by the NVAO (in Dutch: Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie). The NVAO is the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders. This organization was established by international treaty and ensures the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders.
Saba University School of Medicine is also accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM).
