| HYPERBARIC
MEDICINE CURRICULUM |
The program is designed to be completed in three semesters.
- Students
currently enrolled in the MD program at SUSM are taking several
of the courses that are included in
the Master of Science degree in hyperbaric medicine and
which would be applied toward the MS degree.
- Students
will also complete three courses specific to the physiology,
pathology,
and treatment strategies relating
to hyperbaric medicine.
- Students
not already participating in the MD program will complete
the coursework below, in
the order listed.

| Evaluation |
Students would be required to successfully complete all of
the basic science coursework included in the Hyperbaric Medicine
program. For the 3-course series in hyperbaric medicine, evaluation
would include:
- Hyperbaric
Medicine I: Two written examinations (mid-term and final).
- Hyperbaric
Medicine II: Evaluation of oral class presentations. A
series of short quizzes, each covering the
material presented in the previous class session.
- Hyperbaric
Medicine III: Evaluation of oral class presentations. Final
research paper (literature search or original
research)
