As degree
programs are developed, members of the Medical School Faculty
will be appointed as needed to the Graduate Faculty. Their role
is to develop degree programs, serve as Major Professors or
Thesis Advisors, and to participate in the development of Graduate
School Policies. The
Institute for Graduate Studies and Research of SABA University
School of Medicine currently offer a Master of Science Degree
in Hyperbaric Medicine. This program is a total of 40 semester
hours, consisting of 34 semester hours of coursework (a semester
hour being defined as one hour per week for 15 weeks), and 6
semester hours of original research from which a thesis of publication
quality will be written. The thesis will be reviewed by at least
three external reviewers of prominence in the field.
Prerequisites
for graduation from this program are:
- Completion
of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or
university
- Completion
of training on Saba leading to the Hyperbaric Tender and
Hyperbaric Driver Certificates
- An
oral, comprehensive examination and thesis defense
- Completion
of the required coursework.
