ADMISSIONS SELECTION
Completed applications are reviewed and evaluated by the Pre-Screening Committee. Incomplete applications or unqualified applicants will be notified. Applicants are selected on the basis of the candidate’s ability to challenge the rigorous demands of the medical curriculum, motivation, perseverance, scholastic record, letters of recommendation and personal statement. MCAT’S are not required, however, at the descretion of the admissions committee they may be requested. Preferably, a personal interview at the main office or at a regional meeting is scheduled. All students are encouraged to visit the basic science campus as part of the admission process. In such cases, a Dean’s assessment will be sent to the Admission Committee. In cases of foreign residence or hardship, a telephone conference call will be scheduled. Decisions regarding admission are normally made within ten business days and a formal letter will be mailed. Admission to an applicant may be denied on the basis of a history of poor academic performance, low MCAT scores, insufficient premedical coursework, or submission of false or incomplete documentation. SABA University shall document its reasons for denying admission to any prospective student. Application documents are kept for a period of year by the registrar in the Office of Admissions. SABA University has an open admissions policy that does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, age or ethnic origin and is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
